The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE Exam) is a national level board of education in India for public and private schools. It is controlled and managed by the Union Government of India. All CBSE affiliated schools follow the NCERT curriculum

AIEEE Examination for admission to undergraduate courses in engineering and architecture colleges was earlier conducted by CBSE but in the year 2013, the AIEEE exam was merged with the IIT-Joint Entrance Examination. The common examination is now called JEE Main and is henceforth conducted by the National Testing Agency.

Every year in the month of March, CBSE conducts the school final examination for Class X and Class XII. CBSE results are announced by the end of May. NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) for admission into major colleges in India is also conducted by CBSE.

Besides these tests, CBSE also conducts the Optional Proficiency Test for class X students and the Central Teachers Eligibility Test. CBSE has started conducting NET since 2014 and it became the largest exam conducting body in the world since then.
