The National Testing Agency (NTA) has open the registration window to apply for the JEE Main 2020 online registration January session on September 3, 2019. Interested candidates can apply online at jeemain.nic.in or nta.ac.in. JEE Main is the national-level engineering entrance exam conducted to assess the competency of students for admission to premier educational institutes such as IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTI). JEE Main will be conducted from January 6 till January 11, 2020. The exam will be held twice in an online mode with the first session in January and the second in April.
Around 1 million candidates are expected to appear this time for JEE Main 2020. Last year, a total of 929,198 students registered for the JEE Main in January and 935,741 students appeared for the entrance test in the April session. The registration process for the January session will close on September 30 and the admit cards will be available to download on December 6. The results for the January session will be declared on January 31 as per the official notification.
The JEE Main is also an eligibility test for JEE Advanced that offers admission to undergraduate programs by the Indian Institute of Technology (IITs). Since JEE Main will be conducted twice in the next academic session, this allows students to improve their scores in the examination i.e., if they fail to give their best in the first attempt, they can appear for the same in the next session the same year. The student’s best of the two NTA scores will be considered for the preparation of the Merit List/ Ranking by the National Testing Agency.
Application criteria for JEE Main include the performance of a candidate in class 12 or equivalent qualifying examination and JEE Main entrance examination. Candidates applying for JEE Main must have scored at least 75 percent in class 12 board exams. For reserved categories (SC/ST), the required percentage is 65 percent.

Step 3: Create a login account
Step 4: Fill in the details
Step 5: Upload scanned documents (Photograph & Signature)
Step 6: Click on Submit
Step 7: Download the application form for reference
The final submission of the online application remains incomplete if all the steps in the application form are not completed. Such forms stand rejected. After completing the registration process, candidates are advised to keep visiting the NTA’s website for all the latest updates. The candidates are advised to ensure their eligibility and the category before applying (for reserved category) as no correction will be entertained after the declaration of result by NTA.
